Within conflict’s crucible he forged an iron will
Amassed power and prowess never witnessed before
His feats in fighting dragons became storied lore
And awe-stricken souls tell tales of his exploits still
Survivor of countless clashes through resolve and skill
His many scars concealed by the charred armor he wore
Overtime he didn’t recognize himself anymore
All that mattered was the duty his kind must fulfill
He viewed all other pursuits as pointless forestalling
Forsaking humanity for the dragons he sought
The knight soon resembled the monsters he fought
The price for answering knighthood’s greatest calling
Such inevitable outcomes are a dragon slayer’s lot
