Loki – November’s Villain of The Month
Loki was originally a Norse and Germanic god of fire. He is infamous for being a mischief-maker, trickster, and shape changer. Loki is unique in his pantheon. He relies on cunning over martial strength. Though not inherently evil, Loki’s actions always grow progressively malicious over time.

Train wreck – NBC’s Dracula
I’m all for clever re-imaginings and artistic license. But NBC’s Dracula is an odd take on Bram Stoker’s tale. I can’t make too many judgments about a show that’s just premiered. But watching this felt like a freight train full of quirkiness hitting a brick wall. With so many novels and movies starring fanged creatures of the night,…

Legacies: The Voices Behind Kain and Raziel
The Legacy of Kain/Blood Omen series was before it’s time in many respects. But its greatest contribution to the video game industry was its emphasis on voice acting. Albert Wesker – September’s Villain of The Month
Albert Wesker is a favorite villain of mine for several reasons. He possessed boundless cunning and ambition. His cold, confident, and calculating demeanor made him a scene stealer whenever he appeared. The neat accomplishment of the Resident Evil series was how they showed Wesker’s ascent to power over the course of several games. Few video…

An Introduction to Nocturnal Wanderings
Where did all this come from, all these words and stories? I look at the collection of poetry that is Nocturnal Wanderings and the answer definitely lies in the past. Many of these poems were inspired by my earlier experiences. The writing was raw and it would be years before it was ready to see…

Cthulhu – August’s Villain of The Month
Cthulhu is a name synonymous with fear and madness. He was introduced to the world by the famous writer, H.P. Lovecraft. His first appearance in literature was the short story entitled, “The Call of Cthulhu.” This Great Old One is described as being vaguely humanoid in appearance, but possessing the characteristics of an octopus and…
